Write & Rise Collective
A weekly practice of writing in community to bring joy and accountability to your work. Whether you’re struggling for inspiration, time to write, or you just can’t seem to get yourself to the page, come nurture your craft in a space where we follow what’s beautiful in our work.
Would you like to:
sit down to the blank page feeling a sense of ease and joy?
learn to let go of the habit of tearing down your writing before it’s had a chance to emerge?
share your work in a community of writers who will show you what’s beautiful in your work?
commit to your craft in a way that makes you excited to create?
Welcome to the Write & Rise Collective, where we come together to delight in the page.

How it works…
Meet at our collective writing place on Zoom
Gather each week in a community of writers.
Get comfortable
Settle in by listening to a meditative reading that will invite you into the present moment.
Get writing
Dive into the offered prompt or follow your pen where it takes you for about twenty minutes of quiet, independent writing.
Share (or listen)
Learn to listen for delights, and to hear what’s beautiful in what you make.
Carry the joy into the rest of your day
Keep writing between sessions or be satisfied knowing, if nothing else, you’re dedicating an hour and a half to your craft each week.
-
Every Thursday, 10:15-11:45 am EST. In the event that a session falls on a holiday, a rain date will be announced by email at least a week in advance.
-
In order to build a community of writers, I only offer these writing sessions as a monthly membership.
If an hour and a half each week is too much of a commitment right now, I understand! Let me know you’d like to be notified when I offer one-off writing sessions.
-
Drop me a line and I will let you know if any additional session times become available.
-
Yes! But only the kinds of rules that make for a strong, protective container. Don’t worry, they’re easy to remember, but I’ll cover them again each session so you never feel lost.
The two guiding principles are:
Confidentiality (pretty self-explanatory, a writer’s story is their own to share)
and we reflect back to the writer the things we heard that delighted us.
-
All of the writing we work with during a session is written live, so it’s up to you whether you continue working with a piece afterwards or not.
-
Anyone with an internet connection who has felt the call to write.
Whether you’re a lifelong journaler, you struggle through writing blog posts for your business, or you’re in the midst of writing a book, this is an opportunity to find joy and community— without fear of judgement.
Come with a writing goal each session, or just come to see what can happen on the blank page.
-
Come try! Let me know you’re interested and I will invite you to join a session free.
Are you ready to delight in a regular writing practice supported by a judgement-free community?
Whether you're looking to improve your craft, finish a project, or find a writing community, the Write & Rise Collective is ready to welcome you.
Welcome! I’m Cheyenne: editor, writing coach, and a writer who has sometimes struggled to write.
Writing should be a joyful experience but, too often, the isolation of trying to protect a project by not sharing it—or the overwhelm of a barrage of advice when one does share—makes the page a fraught ally. I’m here to be your guide in finding a sense of curiosity and delight in your work.
I help writers to see their own work more clearly, improving their craft by learning to see what works in their writing and letting go of unproductive internal (or external!) criticism. When writers are stuck, uncertain, or overwhelmed by the possibility in the blank page, I help them hear their own voices more clearly. My goal is to help each writer I work with deepen their understanding of—and confidence in—their craft and their own creative instincts.
I’m a writer, editor, and writing coach working with all kinds of writers, from the very new to the seasoned professionals. I studied Literature, French, and Philosophy at Bennington College (BA). Since then, my writing journey has brought me at various times to work as a ghostwriter, reporter, editorial assistant, teacher, and copywriter.
Jennifer Goldman, Essayist and Poet
Cheyenne is skilled at giving feedback to writers and pulling out threads and themes which helps writers create cohesive work. […] I found her to be gifted in her feedback, and her guidance was gentle, competent, and very perceptive and insightful.
Birgit Sandoval, Novelist
In the past year, I've learned more from Cheyenne than I did in all my writing workshops and college courses combined.
Want to write together in person?
I offer a limited number of in-person writing workshops in New England. If you’re interested in writing together, let me know where you’re based!
